For half a century I’ve been trying to discover the secret of the photograph, and it keeps eluding me. Perhaps the beauty is in the search itself, in the process of searching. The paths and by-roads you must go down in this search are always unpredictable, and the results of the search always wondrous. I practise all kinds of photography, without imposing limitations on myself, because ultimately my goal is a good photograph. In over fifty years I’ve been practising photography, I’ve conducted all kinds of experiments, chemical and alchemical, but I’ve not yet reached the secret hidden in the darkness of analog and digital boxes. Everything that is or comes to be in the darkness is a secret, and one must discover it.
About the artist:
He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka, Croatia, in the graphics class. In his more than 40 years with the medium of photography, he has curated over 250 exhibitions.
