Lenka L. Lukačovičová presents her most extensive project, »Lonely Planet Trnávka«, at the Lonely Planet exhibition. She does not limit her territory, she passes through her own space. She observes it and finds in it transformations, (inter)spaces, public spaces, unexpected situations. Places that are not coherent and monotonous, but are organized and chaotic at the same time.

Photographs by Lenka are images of the peripheral places of the country and the city, focused beyond the seen reality. She is idealistic, perhaps even romantic, believing that the spirit of a place so often mentioned and evoked is not only given by the attractiveness or uniqueness of the environment. Because even though it is bound to a physical place, it is formed in our perception.

About the artist:
Lenka Lukačovičová (1987) graduated from the AFAD in Bratislava, Slovakia. Her work, and especially many of her exhibition activities, focus on the overlaps between photography, installation and performance. In the last years she was awarded at the Different Worlds(2021) and became a laureate of the Novum Foundation in 2022.
