Over the ocean waves is a series of photographs capturing my experiences navigating a western society over the last decade having grown up in Kenya for the first 18 years of my life. In a lot of ways, migration into a new culture changes a lot of ways we perceive ourselves and others. The question, »no, but where are you really from« is something I get asked quite a bit, intensifying these feelings of outsider.
