The Swiss brochure impresses with its excellent opening behavior and is particularly popular for photo books. In this workshop, Anna Frey demonstrates how to stitch a book block using the “French Link Stitch” binding and incorporate it into a softcover. You’ll learn about essential bookbinding materials and principles, then bind a 128-page book block using high-quality 100g natural paper. The Swiss brochure’s unique feature is that, upon opening the cover, the spine of the book block with its thread stitching is visible—and when opened, the book block lies completely flat.
